This is a close up of the bottom (see the monkey?).
Spray Paint Queen to the rescue!!! They look like they belong now. They need something more, I wanted some trim or maybe stencil, decals??? I don't have anything on hand at the moment so I guess they'll have to stay this way until I find just the right thing.
Any ideas????

How about a monogram? Jan over at bobbypinsboardwalk just did an old milk can with a monogram and it turned out fabulous. She has a tutorial on her blog, last post I think.
