The Great News...and The Bad News!!

Well, I'll begin with my GREAT NEWS!!!! I won!!! My hard work paid off and I've won!!! Yay....(insert happy dance here)!!!!! I took an entrepreneur class at school and they gave out three prizes. As luck would have it....there were only three left taking the class!!! I was guaranteed some sort of prize as long as I finished!! I was so worried!! I had to complete a business plan, for an online business. Most valuable lesson...I don't want an online business!!!

I did win first place......

 A refurbished laptop!!!!

And I won.....

$500 in cash!!! New camera.....here I come!!!! (Now you understand the happy dance)!!!!

The bad news Blogger has been VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! I have noticed others' are also having problems. Grrrr!!! Can't sign out...can't leave comments......!!!! Maybe this is a lesson on patience....because I don't seem to have any!!!!

Church Sale On Saturday

On our way to the antique mall on Saturday we happened by a church sale!! I must say I'm rather proud of myself....no yard sale trips this year. Some of my junk has got to go!!!! I need to have a HUGE, GINORMOUS SALE!!!! But until then.....I'm trying to control my shopping. Here are a few of the things which were too good to pass up!!!!
A pair of Ikea mirrors....I've never owned Ikea anything!!! That was exciting....but to get both mirrors for .50!!! Score!

 I purchased all three of these candles for .75!! Mmmm, pumpkin spice and mulled cider...perfect for fall!

 I've been looking for a cream colored handbag!! I think it needs a little something but the shape and style are perfect!!! I also purchased my daughter and a friend an entire bag of clothes....the total price for the sale $4.25 for everything!! I love sales!! I just can't stay away all summer....I'll be lost!!!!

 While at the sale they mentioned they were giving away hot dogs for free with a blood donation. It's something I've always meant to do....but just not ever got around to!! We were purchasing hot dogs anyway (aren't church hot dogs the greatest)!!!! So off I went to donate my blood!!!!

The experience wasn't bad and I think I'll do it again.....My arm just looks horrible!!! I donated on Saturday and today is Tuesday and it STILL looks this bad!!! It looks much worse than it feels!!!! But it was for a great cause!! I'll find out about my competition at school tomorrow....can hardly wait....c'mon prize money!!!! Antique Shopping

We went out shopping Saturday. I really didn't even have a plan (I always have a plan)!!! The only place I really wanted to go was an antique store called Beaver Creek Antiques. I was there recently and had found something I really wanted. Did I buy it when I found it....NO!!! Have I thought about it since then....YES!!! Why do I do these things???? The darling little item of my thoughts...a glass ice bucket!! Do I NEED it....no!! To make matters worse I found the exact ice bucket at another antique store for $30!!! Thirty dollars!!!! WHAT!!! I just passed one up for $5!!! When will I ever learn???

So....back to the antique store we went. I tried not to frantically run back to the booth....tee hee hee!!! So I walk in the booth and I'm devastated because I don't see it!!! Oh NO!!! What have I done???? But, after scouring the booth there it is!!! Still half of $9.99 Yay me!!!!! After walking around I also found this great bottle....$2.00.

                                               This little cherub statue was a whopping $3.00.

                                             I brought it home and placed these flowers inside.

I didn't think my antique day could get any better until.....

I ran upon this wonderful Victorian book!!!

It's a Victorian scrapbook.

 Lots of things had been torn out but the book alone is wonderful. It did still have several pieces of clip art....

The best part....this wonderful book....$5.00!!!! I love it and can't wait to scan these cards!!!!

I Feel Better....I Think!

I am feeling Soooo much better....I think! The last time I thought I felt better I had a relapse then was in bed for another couple of days!!! Sheesh...is this EVER going away??? Let me just say having a fever sucks!!!

On to the GOOD things....

I received my sign from Ramsign last week. I know it's corny but I was so excited to receive an out of the country package (it came from Denmark)!!!

 The sign was just an added bonus!!!

 I also stopped at a yard sale...(after telling myself...no more stuff)....and found this cute bath print!! It is really cute....how could I pass it up right???? Just saying don't you hate glare??? So annoying!

 Last I found this cute bag!! It was a whopping .25. Of course I would buy it and put ruffles on it....

except.....

the more I looked at it.....

the less I wanted to cover it up!!!!

I think it needs a little somethin' somethin'....maybe a black and white flower....you know I like flowers....I guess we will see!!! I need to begin projects again but I've had homework.....ughhhhh!!! I'm so sympathizing with the kiddos right now!!! I hate homework but this homework will hopefully win me some $$$$$!!! I want first prize so bad.....

first prize will buy me a new camera!!!! I need that money!!!

If I don't blog regularly this week you'll know I'm STILL doing homework!!!

Sorry for not posting...I have been sick!! Not the regular sick....the kind of sick where you think you'd like to kick the bucket but don't have the energy!!! lol  You know how it goes though, more cleaning, laundry, and dishes than I had to begin with (trust me I had PLENTY to begin with). Happy Mother's Day To Me!!!!

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!! Mine was perfect!!! I went to church....and then hit a bag sale!!!

Oh bag sales how do I love thee??? Let me count the ways.......
(Everything you see was included in one bag minus this dress form/picture holder. It was $1.50.)

 A pair of ruffled curtains....I know it's hard to tell....they have small ruffles all the way around both sides....

and across the top!!! I wish there would have been more of these!!!

(This is the one I decided to use instead of the one yesterday)

 A quilted top.....

 Two white pillowcases....

 A bed skirt....wouldn't this be a great base for a ruffled tablecloth?

 I'll get completely off track...away from solid white and show these vintage pieces.....

 Last but not least a chocolate brown sheer....great to use in the fall and winter.

I used the following items in my bedroom makeover:

Pillowcases, 2 sheer panels, and bedspread.

Everything you've seen was stuffed in one Wal-Mart sized grocery bag.....the entire bag was $5.00!!! Happy Mother's Day to me!!!!! I know you ladies understand hitting a great yard sale.....estate sale....bag sale is the greatest gift you could possibly get on ANY DAY!!! After the sale my husband and kids took me out to eat and let me take a nap!!! The perfect day!!!

Princess Story Cont.

The princess decided to use her creativity......

Sheer curtains to hide all of the romance novels (which every princess needs...lol ), extra jewelry, shoes and handbags behind a wall of sheer panels....doesn't look as much like a closet now!!!!

 She fluffed her curtains, and redid her princess bed......

 She left her jewelry holder to admire all of the crown jewels.......

She decorated her dresser (the other one. Yes, there are two in this tiny room)....

She used some of her favorite romantic things.....

( I have NO idea why she feels the need to leave tags on things....crazy girl !!!)

She used some of her favorite photos and every princess needs a variety of gloves for special occasions.....

She discovered new bedding....(which will be tomorrow's story) and changed the bedding for the second time in one day (and wonders why she had no room...tee hee hee).....

She set the stage for the perfect princess Mother's Day!!!!

The moral of this story is....(yes it does have one)......you should make the most of what you have. You can wait for years to build on....

or wait for projects to come together......

wait for the perfect day.......

don't spend your life waiting.....

make the most of what you have....

enjoy your home.....

no matter how imperfect it is!!!

What A Day!!!

What a day yesterday!!! There was so much to do!! I knew I would forget something....I forgot to post!! Oops!! I had pics and everything!!! I wanted to share what I made.....


I think I need one....

 I made this for my mom for Mother's Day. I packed up all my windows and took them to school (it's awesome to have so many tools on hand). My youngest daughter looks at me and giggles and says "hmmm, you're making your mommy a Mother's Day gift at school"!!! I cracked up laughing because she was right!!!

 It was so easy!! I think it turned out great and I'm definitely making myself one!!!

It's Funny....Because It's True!!!

As you have probably figured out by now....I have a warped sense of humor. Sometimes things are hilarious....because they are true. With that being said.....

(I did warn you) let me tell you a story.......

There once was a prince.....

 Who met his princess......

 They were married....

and were married for a long time.....



One day while laying in bed     (don't worry this is a rated G story)     she looked around and discovered.....they slept in a closet!!!!

Yes, in a closet......

You see they were surrounded by shoes.....he bought for her......

 Handbags galore.......

 More shoes.....(the princess loves shoes especially at 1/2 off)......

 He bought her a princess bed.....(you really do have to climb in this bed).....

 And jewelry.....lots of jewelry......

The princess was tired of living in a cramped closet and decided to use what she had. She wants a retreat.....not a closet to sleep in. So, she must deal with circumstances as they are and make the best of her "closet"

Well....someone must save this poor princess.....
