Flea Mkt For Mother's Day

My hubby decided he would take me to a flea market for Mother's Day. It was on Saturday and I was so excited. On our way this is what we saw, as it had rained the night before. The clouds cleared and I was hopeful for some great deals.
I found this cute sign for my friend Kathy!.......50 cents

I found these things for my friend Kelli's new photo studio!............50 cents each

Kathy had called and said she found sets of drapes for $3.99. I had to check them out and here they are!!! Can we say steal??? It was 2 panels and tiebacks for $3.99. The valances were $1.99. I bought 2 different sets. All together $21.00 for new and not used! These were from Gabes later in the day.

Back to the flea market.........
My find of the day!!!
(insert happy music here)
I spotted these boxes from far away. Ya know one of those times you want to break and run but don't because you want a better deal!! So I strolled up and checked the tag. It said $12.00 for 5 boxes!!! Yes a very good deal but I wanted more!

So, I casually said "take any less?" He said "Oh what does she have on them? I'll take $8". Couldn't get the money out fast enough! I love them!

Well, after everything I brought home, having a yard sale today. Wish me luck!!!!

Can We Say Adrenaline Rush????

Are adrenaline rush or ecstatic too strong? ....no I didn't think so either! OK, I'm going to keep you waiting for just a second. Stopped at a yard sale on my way home from school yesterday (it still sounds funny...me and school....haha). I found beautiful things but I had very little money (actually all I had was my daughters $5.00). I did find these brand new shower hooks for $2.00 and the plate rack for $1.00. Now I'll just owe my daughter $3.00!!! But wait! Are you ready for it????

I found a settee at one of my favorite shops. There were 2 in the beginning and she said $300 for the pair. Ouch! No way! So I waited.....
And waited........

Well she said she would take $200 for the pair. $100 each not a bad deal but, I only wanted one. Well, one of the settee's sold. I'm thinking I can get the other for 100 bucks. Did I have 100 bucks....no. So I waited some more..................

And waited...............

And waited..............(Let's just go on record I'm NOT a patient person)

Until yesterday. My dear friend Lena who's next door to the lady who originally had the settee ended up with it. Just out of curiosity I asked How much? She said oh, (in her Italian accent) I'll take a loss on it $50.00! Can you believe it???? I'm looking at it and still don't!!!
(Please excuse the mess......I was excited......understatement)

It's beautiful! I told her to hold it I would go get her money "right now". Even if the electricity was turned off I'd have something pretty to sit on right? Just kidding! Isn't it pretty though????

I think adrenaline rush sums up the feeling.......I'm soooooo excited!

By the way Happy Mother's Day and Happy Shopping!

More "Shopping" & Before & After

Here are the candle holders I was telling you about! Aren't they too cute. Yes dusty I know but I just laid them out of the box they were in and snapped. How about this lamp!!! I forgot I had it too. Surprise!!

The after on frames and the trash can and tissue box. Nothing like a fresh coat of white.

The planter and stand!! Finally! The stand was in the attic....knew where it was. The basket on top....not so much. After searching I found it!! The before green and rusty.

The after white!

I had picked up a curtain to match my shower in the bathroom (even though I don't have a window). This is the curtain lining my basket of goodies.

The finished product!! One down 100 more to go!

Went Shopping For Free

I was reading Rene's blog @ MissGracie'sHouse yesterday and she said she had went "Shopping" in her barn. I thought that was hilarious and decided to use it today (thanks Rene)! I saw a pair of candle sconces someone was selling and thought Hey! I have those! That began my search. I was also missing a basket that went on a stand. Couldn't find either of those things anywhere. The only place I had left was the dreaded outbuilding......ewww! So I began unloaded EVERYTHING (most terrible job ever).
Not so terrible by the time I was finished. I found these: didn't know I had them and they'll look great on the new desk! They have something to do with printing. Found all this! I didn't know I had the frame....excited! Nice surprise finding the pottery pieces too!
Knew I had these birds......somewhere! The little boxes.....I love them.

Can't wait to paint these up! They'll look great white.......feel a project in the near future!

Didn't know I had this either! Color....good............Cleaned........yes! It's ready to be put out now!
After yesterday no work....yaaay!

Why were all these great things buried in the building you ask? I have no idea! A huge lapse in judgement is all I can come up with (just don't tell hubby I admitted to something like that)! Not to mention yes I found the things I was looking for and was so excited I didn't even blog about those!!!! I'll save them for another time, everyone have a great day!!

Spring Bedroom

First, I wanted to share my embroidered pillowcases. I just think these are so sweet. Found them at a yard sale for nearly nothing and it just so happens they belonged to a dear lady I went to church with. This is the whiter version of my bedroom. Not as elegant or heavy as before. I have an authentic chenille bedspread (from my grandmother).
Like the alarm clock.....gotta have it.

I don't have a lot of wall space but just enough for these great pictures! Another yard sale find. I bought them just as they are!

The other night stand....notice the bird theme?

Well, that's it for now. I have more to do, but this is a start!

Set The Table

Sometimes after a while I forget what kind of dishes I have.....I know your shocked! I was curious and looked through a stack of dishes. I decided on these. I don't know much about them but they were very inexpensive. I'm using my tray and butter dish from sale a couple of weeks ago. I'm also using the moss covered rocks from Dollar Tree. The crystal candle holder came from another sale. The jars came in a set of 3 but, one's broken (sensing a pattern here). I picked some honeysuckle to fill the glass piece on the tray.

Very simple but pretty I think.....if I can keep everything in one piece!

From Horrible To Duh!

Notice my little 3 tiered plate in the bottom corner??? That's the only view your going to get! I took this picture and set it on the kitchen table to keep it from getting broken....... We were all back through the house and heard a huge crash! You know, the dreaded sound of glass shattering. We all ran in everyone is OK and this is what we saw (just in the floor).

Words of advice always tighten up those loose screws. I knew it was loose and tightened it up a little. How it tipped over....I don't know. This is all I have left. I'm so sad. Thinking I can use plates or metal trays someday. Right now I'm just too upset to do anything at all.Grrrr

On to better things ....... Do you ever feel really stupid??? Well, that was this morning. Little one's home sick so no church. Don't ask me why but I looked at this lamp (remember the $2.00 one) and couldn't understand why the crystal cup didn't have holes for prisms.

Well......guess what, after a year of having it.....surprise! It does. I can't believe I didn't check! Duh! How stupid!

Doesn't it look better? I love them! If I could get the girls or dogs to stand still long enough they would have prisms too.....lol.

Maybe I'll be more careful and check next time.....nah your right, probably not!
Have a great Sunday!
