Spring Please!

I am so ready for Spring! I can't believe these flowers are ready to bloom! I dug these up from my grandmother's house. She was an avid flower gardener. This is a Primrose. My day lilies. They began life in a small clump they've spread so much!
My Easter Lilies. I would like to add some flowers in my little cart and maybe add a basket to the tricycle. I think I need some height too.

Thrift Stores!!

I was fortunate enough to go to a few thrift stores today!!! YEAH! I found this egg, 1/2 a $1.00. The silver tray was $2.00. My favorite is this angel head $2.99. Went to Hobby Lobby and found these candle sticks. They match a bowl I found previously. Spray Paint Queen will be busy tomorrow.
Check out the regular price compared to the clearance price!!!

I wanted to share a funny story about clearance. Cousins Micah and Michelle said every time they go into a store they look for Clarence (clearance). There have been times they look toward the back of the store and say oh look there's Clarence! Of course there would be no one there and people would look at them strangely! lol. So from now on happy shopping be on the look out for Mr. Clarence!!

Pink and Polka Dots

I still love Hobby Lobby (but only if I see 80% or 90% off). I found one candle in one section and remembered seeing another one across the store. I just couldn't pass up a pink candle. $1.79. Yet another Hobby Lobby find. This one happened months before the candles. It was pink, had polka dots, and was $2.00. Who would ever pass that up????
Here they are together. Don't they look great? I'm just looking for the perfect spot. I have an idea but have to do some cleaning first.............boo cleaning!

Maybe I'll get them in place today? Probably not.......sometime this year is looking better..lol!

My Bedroom

This is a clip I found in a magazine. I loved the whole set and put it in my wish list book. My room went from white to this blue-gray color. It came from Wal-Mart.
This is a dresser from my grandmother.

The end result!! I bought this bedding and saved it for months. I wanted my room painted and cleaned. Finally it was all finished and I went through my wish book and couldn't believe this bedding was so similar!

DG Lamps

I had my eye on these lamps from Dollar General for months. There was no way I was going to dish out $10.oo for them. It just so happened I walked in one day and they were half off!!! My husband has been laid off from work and I knew I shouldn't buy them. I whined for a little bit and he told me to buy them anyway.....thanks honey!!!! So I ended up with 2 for $10.00. Did I need them....no, my lamp fetish seems to be getting out of hand. But the Spray Paint Queen got to work and painted them silver (because they look better) and here is one.
The other is being stored, if and when I need it at least I'll have a pair!!

Bargain Basement Lamp

This is a lamp I bought on a trip to Hillsville, VA. The entire town is a flea market. I saw the lamp and assumed it was too expensive. I asked anyway and it was $2.00! Can you believe it??? These shades came with another set of lamps. I bought solid pink, white, and polka dotted ribbons on a roll. I glued the ribbons and then added a button (for some sparkle) clearance from Wal-Mart. I also added the trim on the bottom. Another clearance find but from Michaels.
Here's another lamp. It came with a shade but, I like this one more. My husband was nice enough to purchase this one for me for my birthday last year. Isn't it beautiful?
It's my favorite lamp!!!

I Love Kathy!

Here is a Hobby Lobby find. Don't you just love 80% and 90% off??? Here they are, were gold and you know the Spray Paint Queen....now silver.
I can't believe my friend Kathy found these shades for $2.99! I was shocked. I was helping her and ran upon them. Aren't they great? My husband and I spent a weekend helping her move. These were one of the consolation prizes (well worth all the work).

This buffet was another giveaway. She took me in a room and said do you like it? Sure I do and she said I have no place for it it's yours!! At the moment it's in my living room. It's waiting for the dining room (I don't have yet...lol). Thanks Kathy....love you!
There's Sarah the cat sitting in her favorite spot.

Birdcage

Here's a birdcage I picked up in Ohio last year. It was under $10.00. I've always wanted one. It began life red. I knew immediately Spray Paint Queen to the rescue!!!

It had flowers in it so I switched them out and after I though about it I wanted to sell it I have no room for it. But,the more I looked at it the more I liked it!
So, the plan is if (or when) we remodel it's going in my bedroom. It would be great in a corner. My life long dilemma keep it and wait for someplace to use it or.......sell it? UH........wait for it...........keep it regardless of the space I have wins out again!!! lol

My Lovely Lamps

I found these lamps at an antique store quite a while back. They were in a Lowe's box by a doorway (brand new). She had a set of 2 and wanted $25.00 each for them. I didn't want to spend that much on them so I passed them by. I went back several months later and they were still there! She took $30.00 for the pair and thankfully I had money at the time and grabbed them up!
I don't have anything gold anywhere, so spray paint queen was at it again! I taped off the glass part.

I found some pink prisms and replaced a different color (purple).

Here they are in my living room! I love them. They're two of my favorites. They were hard wired for direct electricity so I put plugs on the ends so I could use them anywhere.

Here they are lit up!!

From EWWW to AHA!

I went to an auction for my mother in laws club she's a member of. I picked up several things there. I saw this mirror and definitely saw potential. It looked like black hammered metal, but was plastic. I loved the shape.

A can of silver spray paint later and here we have it! No one would ever guess it's plastic!

I'm thinking if anyone ever figures it out they're way too close!!!

Accidental Curtains

Here is a panel from a set of curtains my mom picked up for me at a yard sale. They were only $3.00 for an entire set (4 panels). After I looked at them for a while I wasn't pleased with the color. Too mauve for my taste. But, she bought them for me so I decided to wash them.
I was shocked to find this shiny pink fabric on the under side!!!! I loved this color and the shine. The curtains had gotten turned wrong side out from the dryer. I took everything apart and bought trim for them too!

Here they are. A minimal amount of work but well worth it! A very happy ending for the wrong color curtains.

Baby Shower

This is a bag I picked up for the bargain price of $5.99. It's too cute! I found these items at the Dollar Tree! If you'll notice they have pics of buttons on them too. Yes it was an accident but still cute.
Here's the tag I made. After I figured out there was a button theme, I made a tag and added a button.

Here are some clothes I picked up at a thrift store. No I don't normally pick up thrift store baby gifts but they didn't have anything and they were washed and dried. I made tags to organize the sizes and present them better.

Here are all the gifts. Didn't cost much but looks great!

TV Trouble

I had the hardest time trying to find something to go around my TV. Yes I need....sorry, want a new one and that horrible stereo. I don't have anyplace to put that either. I've had everything everywhere in this area. I think I finally have it now! Cluttered but cute. Here is my cherub print!!! Don't you loooove it! It's my favorite....right now anyway. I love this frame too.

Here are my thrift store cherubs. I was in a shop and wanted them soooo badly! I didn't buy them that day (no money...sad).
I went back the following week and asked how much? She said $15.00. Not too bad but again didn't have that much. She came down to $12.00 though and I said yes! Evidentaly they had been gold before, so someone saved me the time and trouble!

Thrifty Thrift Store Find

I was at a local thrift store and found this little thing! How could you pass it up for .50 cents? It reminded me of a vase I saw with flowers in it a few weeks before. Sorry it's sideways (I forgot)! LOL I found flowers that I had. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a full plastic storage container full of flowers.

And there she is! I really like the arrangement. Not bad for the price.

I didn't have any floral foam so I took a Styrofoam ball and cut it in half (because I was too impatient to wait). Luckily it stayed. I love everything on this table. I guess I can take the tag off now too!

Looking for Spring

I decided to try to decorate for spring (just a little). I usually don't have the time or energy to decorate for spring. It's normally just a wreath and that's it. I picked this up at a yard sale years ago. I've not had any place to put it. It just came to me........the porch! It's actually two sconces wired together which I thought was pretty great. I removed the old flowers, then wired the eggs onto the holders. I know it's hard to see from the glare but I took flowers wired them to the wreath. Then I took eggs (purchased from Dollar Tree) and drilled holes in them. After drilling holes in them I wired them on as well.
I need to decorate the chair but with all the rain I didn't want my quilt to get wet. I think it looks festive anyway! At least it's something bright to come home to.
